Now, please keep an open mind because it’s time to face your relationship to money in a way that will assist you in attracting the sacred abundance that is your divine birthright.
Dive in with me as we take a detailed look at how to reframe your negative money mantras. That’s what I call the toxic default settings your brain automatically switches to concerning money. If you haven’t already, I suggest reading my post about “The Mantra that will Derail your Holistic Business Success” before you continue so that you can get the most value out of this article.
As long as you’re running your business (or your life) from a toxic mindset around money, you’ll continue to be stuck in a holding pattern of stress and financial struggle. Is money the root of all evil or a system of exchange? Read on if you’re ready to change your self talk to invite more money into your business and your life.
4 Steps To Reframe Your Negative Money Mantras
Step 1: Take Stock Of Your Situation
Own your stuff! Take a moment to realize that you have been repeating a negative money mantra (or mantras) to yourself. How long have you been keeping yourself broke by telling yourself things like “money is the root of all evil” and “rich people are greedy”?
You have been actively blocking your own financial flow. How? By telling your subconscious mind that money is a bad thing. Once this information has been stored, your subconscious mind follows through and protects your goodness and decency by keeping that dirty, evil substance called money far away from you.
Your subconscious is doing its best to ensure that nobody will be able to mistake you for an evil rich person. Unfortunately, this also means that nobody will be able to mistake you for someone who is generous with their wealth either. Take a moment to brainstorm some of your most pervasive money mantras before moving on to step 2.
Step 2: Bring Your Negative Money Mantras Into The Light
Now it’s time to explore if and how these negative money mantras have served you in the past. That may not seem to make much sense. But we never do anything that doesn’t serve us on some level. So find out what that level is for you.
For example, maybe you grew up poor. Your parents weren’t able to provide much for your family but they gave you the best life they could. Perhaps they told you “money can’t buy happiness.” And since you appreciated your family you internalized this money mantra. Later on now that things have gone a bit sour with your own business, you may be clinging to this mantra for the comfort of knowing that your family’s happiness doesn’t hinge on your ability to bring home the bacon.
Once you’ve explored what purpose these negative money mantras have served it’s time to move on to the next step.
Step 3: Let Them Go
This step is simple but can be a challenge for some people. Once you know what your negative money mantras are and how they used to serve you, you can release them. This doesn’t have to be a painful ordeal. You can choose to simply witness what comes up and let it go.
If you’re finding this difficult or feel that you’re not ready to let go of these patterns locking you in place then take an honest look at your financial situation and your standard of living. Are you enjoying wealth, comfort, and ample free time with your family and friends? These are your birthright. But in order to access them you have to let go of the negative money mantras. Once you have done this you’ll be raring to take it to the next level.
Step 4: Create Positive Replacement Money Mantras
After you’ve broken free from the thought patterns that were holding you in a no-growth situation the next step is to build a new mental framework. This foundation will support your continued growth. So take care to build it well.
You may choose to replace the negative statement “money is the root of all evil” with the more positive “money is a system of energy exchange.” This new mantra affirms that money is a form of energy and it also implies that you deserve to receive money in exchange for your services or products.
Your new money mantras will inspire you to take the next appropriate actions – getting out there to market and sell!
Your Right to Sacred Abundance
You have the right to receive, accept and attract sacred abundance with your good work in the world. If that’s not happening for you now, then try these reframes and cultivate a new relationship to money. Your services are needed, but without being “fed” by a flow of money that supports you, the price you’ll pay may be far too high!
