Has Your Dream Downgraded to a Daily Grind?

business coachThere’s an expansive quality that happens for us when we have the chance to escape daily routines. We pull our heads out of ‘To-Do’ fog, rote habits and contractive responsibilities. We see from a broader view, and survey our life from atop the heady hills of perspective.

Potentialities appear before us in those moments. Creative new thoughts emerge. Inspiration catches us on a breeze and we take flight. Like an eagle we soar over the landscape of life  –  considering … VALUING our dreams.

All things seem possible.

Back to the Meat Grinder

Eventually we return. To the quotidien. The daily. The ‘grind’. And like burger meat, our dreams get processed through the machine, leaving raw red lumps of ground chuck where luminous possibility had briefly dwelled.

Maybe this is why change is so precious to me?
Maybe this is why travel, at times feels so urgent?

When our dreams die, our lives lack luster, meaning and joy. For this reason, many of us seek to find a ‘living’ – a business or vocation – which gives meaning back. Instead of ‘working for the man’ we make a new choice. A choice for ourselves and our dreams.

Breathing Life into Your Dream

And so we invest our hearts, time and money in developing the skills to build that visionary business. Maybe its a healing modality, maybe it’s a knowledge base, collection of complimentary skills, suite of products or services.

Whatever it is, we Cultivate Mastery, and all goes well for awhile.

Until the complexities and demands of growing a business with those skills (usually on a budget) pull us back into an unrelenting routine, simply to stay above water. The summit vision that sparked our journey is now a long way away, as we find ourselves spending many more hours ‘working’ and very few soaring.

Willy-nilly, we’re back in contraction, but this time knee-deep in commitment and overhead we may not be able to get out from under.

The Serially Unsuccessful & Lifting as We Rise

I’ve been there more than once. With limited ability to actually work for someone else’s dreams, I’ve been a serial (and serially unsuccessful!) entrepreneur. Starting businesses with big visions, small budgets and no strategic support, I’ve found myself, again and again, in contraction, overwhelm, and a long way from the heady tree tops where visionaries and eagles dwell.

If you haven’t been there yet, I strongly advise against it! How? …

Fortunately today, we have unprecedented access to support for true success. As the old systems of commerce crumble around their corrupt cores, a wave of conscious (and admittedly not-so-conscious) enterprising folks are stepping out of the old system and into their own vision of life, service and success.

One of the big trends in this entrepreneurial arena is Coaching. Thanks to the internet, virtual coaching offers a “Lift as we Rise” model for success. Operating from a vibration that’s resonant with abundance, and leveraging the internet for worldwide reach, coaches are coaching small business owners and heart-felt entrepreneurs in order to help them reach and serve more people.

A Business Coach? – The 10 Billion Industry

Whether it’s Health Coaching, Life Coaching or Business Coaching, the community of helpers available is no doubt unprecedented. In fact, according to a March 2013 analysis from IBS World, Business Coaching alone is a 10 billion dollar industry, with 47,624 businesses under the ‘Business Coaching’ banner.

AllBusinessCoaching.com has the following to say about the growth of the Business Coaching industry in the USA:

“Continued research on the Internet shows that business coaching and training is not just restricted to large Fortune 1000 companies. Small businesses and entrepreneurs are also jumping on the coaching bandwagon. Four years ago, less than 5{2dffcae524e448daa5a394de35e8db397573d0ad5ca9273ab673a724f30cb980} of small business owners invested in coaches. Now up to 20{2dffcae524e448daa5a394de35e8db397573d0ad5ca9273ab673a724f30cb980} of American small business owners and entrepreneurs are reaping the measurable benefits from business coaches as they continue their efforts to master success.”

And as far back as a decade ago, Innovative Coaching for Entrepreneurs gathered the following stats on the benefits businesses enjoy when they invest in professional Coaching support:

“There is increasing evidence that coaching is one of the most powerful ways of developing people and adding to bottom line business performance. A study of Fortune 1000 companies using coaching showed these percentages of executives reported the following benefits from the coaching they received:

  • An increase in productivity (by 53{2dffcae524e448daa5a394de35e8db397573d0ad5ca9273ab673a724f30cb980})
  • Increased customer service (by 39{2dffcae524e448daa5a394de35e8db397573d0ad5ca9273ab673a724f30cb980})
