Okay, I’m going to say something that just might piss you off. It might also make you wonder what this post has to do with spiritual awakening, soul purpose, or any of the things I usually write about. So I ask for your patience and I invite you to keep reading, even if at first you feel annoyed or angry with my words. Here goes. Point-black, no punches …
To Occupy is Patriotic.
More than that – when you hear anything other than this (like Occupiers don’t have clear demands, they’re rebels, trouble-makers, losers, nut balls …) you should smell a rat! Specifically: a FU Rat. And what’s a FU Rat? A Fraudulent Usurper Rat. In other words, the multi-national corporations that now have the rights of human beings in the USA (and the world, BTW), and the bankster-gangsters who’ve stolen the vast majority of the nation’s wealth & the planet’s gold.
You see, the Founding Fathers of the United States very clearly articulated certain principles upon which the nation was to be based – no ifs, ands or buts. One of the core principles is the equal rights of ALL citizens to participate in the direction and fate of the country. Further, should a foreign entity usurp American’s rights (enter the FU Rats) and enforce tyranny upon it’s citizens, it is the DUTY of the people to rise up and throw them out.
But here’s the Problem
- The FUs have control of Congress. Yep, these are the guys who’ve turned Congress & the Executive Branch into a collection if fork-tongued puppets.
- Congress & the Executive Branch, in turn, have control of a private army of thugs (yeah, I mean the police) to enforce the will of their money-grubbing overlords and thus, quash dissent.
- The FU Rats also control the media, which means if you watch main stream media, all you’re going to get is the spin doctor stories about everything from politics to panty hose.
So What do we Do?
Now here’s where spiritual practice starts to enter the picture. And I’m not referring to anything other than a deep abiding commitment to the ‘God Given’ rights of all on this Earth to thrive, to live free of enslavement (including economic enslavement) and to have the right, nay, the duty to remove false power, however it manifests. It’s where the proverbial rubber hits the road …
It’s called Non-Violence and it manifests as collective actions done with the goal of Liberation from tyranny.
- Gandhi-ji did it in India
- Martin Luther King did it in the USA
- Cesar Chavez did it in Mexico
- Nelson Mandala did it in South Africa
- Aung San Suu Kyi does it in Myanmar/Burma
We call these leaders heros. We call them noble and just. And yet, day-by-day we see examples of excess force and downright brutality by the police against non-violent Occupiers from New York to Oakland.
And still I say, non-violence will be the answer. But there’s someone who says all of this a lot better than me. Her name is Marianne Williamson and you probably know her as a contemporary spiritual leader. In this hour-long talk, she outlines the situation, the problem and the solution very, very clearly. When you have an hour to give to the cause of Liberation for all, I highly recommend you watch! To all of our freedom and liberation from Tyranny in any form!
Many blessings,
Dawn
